Posted on December 5th, 2016 by Amy Fedeski

On 13th and 14th January 2017 the Department of Cultures, Politics and Society at the University of Turin will host ‘European Democracy Under Stress’. The conference is organised by the Political Studies Association’s Italian Politics and Anti-politics Specialist Groups with the support of the PSA and the Faculdade de Ciencias Sociais e Humanas, Universidade Nova De Lisboa.

The aim of the conference  is to offer a distinctive approach in capturing the complexities of the stresses faced by European democracies, reflecting on the causes, symptoms, effects and long term consequences of the so-called ‘democratic crisis’, to develop explicitly comparative insights into the European ‘democratic crisis’ and to offer an opportunity to redefine key concepts which underpin the debate on ‘democratic crisis’. Dr Matt Wood will be presenting with Dr Arianna Giovannini on ‘Brexit, anti-politics and the quest for control’.

Registration is open until Friday 6th January at the following link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/european-democracy-under-stress-tickets-29462165129.
